Our Story
HOW WE GOT STARTED
AND WHERE WE ARE NOW…
Art and Karen Wood are a Tucker staple. Art grew up in Tucker and is a Tucker H.S. graduate. His ties and involvement with the community are deep, and Karen got caught up in his enthusiasm and love for Tucker long before marrying in 2007.
Back in 2010, Art and Karen, along with Tucker First United Methodist Church, started Taste of Tucker to celebrate the great community of Tucker, Georgia. The first location was the church’s parking lot.
Art and Karen knew they wanted the event to be family-oriented, inclusive, fun, and that, in one way or another, would benefit the community at large.
13 restaurants participated that first year with 500 people in attendance. Three years later, the event could no longer fit on the original site, so Art and Karen moved it to Main Street.
Year after year, Taste of Tucker has continued to grow, featuring dozens of local restaurants and more than 7,000 people in attendance, raising funds to benefit NETWorks Cooperative Ministry, Camp Kudzu, and Olde Town Tucker Merchants Association.
For the 15th consecutive year, Taste of Tucker will fill Main Street in Tucker, Georgia with good food, community, and fundraising. And we can’t wait!
